Although I’ve had the pleasure of photographing two lovely winter weddings so far during the “low” season, the shorter days of the year are generally spent doing less photography and more of the “other stuff,” including sample book/album design, website tweaking, planning for the year ahead, and of course preparing for the tax deadline now staring at me directly in the face. The cold, cold, bitter cold weather (come on, I moved here from tropical Houston, Texas) helps to make sure that I spend my days huddling inside doing all of these responsible sorts of things. Which is why it was so great to escape the bonds of my Mac last Friday, get in my attention-starved car, and head just north of London (in the rain, no less; this is how dedicated I am) to take a few portraits of Kim Taylor, who I first met doing Melissa and Allan’s wedding photography in Eastbourne last September. Speaking of Melissa and Allan, I now have in my hands a beautiful 18×10-inch Queensberry album….
