Kimberley Hall Wedding
Clare Watkinson and Tom Elliott
Remember Clare and Tom’s engagement photos? I joked on Facebook that I celebrated my Americanness by spending the 4th of July driving in my car. But I gladly did so to get the right photos for these two. Besides, it was an easy drive for a Midwestern American (and just another Monday here in Britain!).
Following that lovely day I had great expectations for their wedding, and they didn’t disappoint. In fact I nearly split this post into two parts after falling in love with Hill House in Norfolk where Clare and her family/entourage spent the night before and the morning of her wedding (although I knocked and knocked on nearby Hill Cottage’s door, thanks to TomTom). The house in itself is stunning (and such space…in England!), but a catering team on standby? A photographer retreat is in order…who’s up for it?
After allowing time for some country bicycle enthusiasts to clear the area (“Tour of Britain”, they called themselves, or was it some other cycling club), we were off to the elegant grandeur of Kimberley Hall, which is still a private home. I could live there (the caterers are a permanent fixture, right?). Maybe I can split my time between Kimberley Hall and Hill House (although I’d surely miss the great views from Randall Murrow Towers…)
If you’re intrigued by their “Simple Shelters” table plan and centerpieces (I can now speak authoritatively on “The Yurt,” thanks to my wedding photography career), scroll on down and check out the evening accommodations they arranged for themselves and several adventurous friends. Very cool!
Finally, special thanks to John Dye for his help shooting at the venue.
